12、形式上的主語,真正的主語是 to providefor their children。我們也可將 It is one s job (duty ,)to do someth in g.視為一個固定的句型,表示“做某事是某人的工作(職責等)”。如:It s every teacher s job to explain things clearly tothe students.把東西給學生講明白是每一位老師應做的事情。2) provide作動詞,意為“提供;供應”。provide sb. with sth. 或 provide sth. for sb. 意為“為某人提供某物”。如:1The mov

13、ie theater provides us with good service.2His school provided a house for him.小試牛刀:漢譯英。他們提供給他錢和衣服。They provided him with money and clothes. = They provided money and clothes for him.2. And any way , I thi nk doing chores is not so difficult.反正我覺得干點家務也不難。any way是一個副詞,若位于句首,其后往往會有逗號將其與句子的其他內容隔開。anyway

14、 在此句中的作用是追加評論,相當于漢語的“反正;仍然;依然”。如:Sam did n t get the job , but he s notun happy because it did n t pay wellany way.薩姆沒有得到那份工作,但他并沒有悶悶不樂,反正薪酬也不算高。anyway 還可用來表示“不管怎樣;無論如何”之意。例如:It s just a cold. But any way, you should still see the doctor.這只不過是感冒,但不管怎樣,你還是應該看看醫生。3. ill & sick1) ill 與 sick 都可以表示“生

15、病的”,都可作表語。如:Alice was ill / sick yesterday.2) 表示“生病”時,sick 可作定語,但 ill通常不作定語。如:Could you help the sick girl?小試牛刀:根據句意,用 ill 或 sick 填空。The driver sent the_ baby to the hospital.(2) My brother is_ . I have to look after him at home.4. The earlier kids learn to be independent , the better it is for thei
