7、on campus. I told people about my idea and we all dreamed about it. But six mon ths passed and nothing happe ned. Fin ally, I could n t wait anymore; my friends and I will make a badm inton tour name nt ourselves. With the support of many stude nts, I went to ask for permissi on from our principal.

8、Rather than objecting to my ideas, he came up with a series of questions about financial support, qualified referees, and safety issues. These were really bey ond my expectati ons that I had not pla nned for. Motivated by the desire for the games, I faced the challenge. With the guidanee of my fathe

9、r, I came to understand that enthusiasm alone could not convince the prin cipal to allow the games; I n eeded to come up with a pla n. So, I searched the Internet and con sulted teachers, and fin allyworked out a pla n that I prese nted to the principal. This time I was fully prepared to answer any

With the permission, my friends and I began to prepare the badminton games with every single detail: registering players, preparing the court, making the rules, training referees and so forth. Unfortunately, winning the

11、principle s favor was not the only obstacle. Since it was a school wide tour name nt, it was very time consuming. A few mon ths before the games, some of my teammates dropped out because they could not bala nee their academic studies. So at the most crucial mome nt, I called together my fellow teamm

12、ates and told them fran kly that I could not follow through with the tour name nt without their support. I proposed that weshould setup a study partn ership to find time to study together as well as continue to prepare for the gameto free our parents from their concerns. Myteammates agreed, and we e

13、ncouraged one another that we could do it. Fin ally, after so many obstacles, the tourn ame nt fin ally took place and over one hun dred stude nts from all four grades participated. This event taught me the skillsn eeded to orga nize a large eve nt in which every little step and detailcoun ted. Havi

14、ng an imaginativeidea is a valuable characteristic, but critical thinking and practical skills are also in dispe nsable to success. Without the collective effort of mygreat team, however, my idea of the badminton tournament never would have come alive. Now, a badm inton club is set up and is in prep
