PPEPDMCaCO_3POFs復合發泡材料及吸油性能研

Introduction:

PPEPDMCaCO3POFscompositefoamingmaterialhasbeendevelopedtoimprovetheoilabsorptionperformanceoftraditionalfoamingmaterials.Thiscompositefoamingmaterialconsistsofamixtureofpolypropylene-ethylene-propyleneterpolymer(PPEPDM),calciumcarbonate(CaCO3),andpolyesteroilsorbentfibers(POFs).ThePPEPDMCaCO3POFscompositefoamingmaterialhasexcellentmaterialpropertiessuchashighporosity,lightweight,andgoodthermalinsulationperformance,whichmakesitsuitableforvariousapplications,includingoilspillcleanup,packaging,andinsulation.ThepresentstudyaimstoinvestigatetheoilabsorptionperformanceofPPEPDMCaCO3POFscompositefoamingmaterial.

MaterialsandMethods:

ThePPEPDMusedinthisstudywassuppliedbyBASF,anditspropertieswereasfollows:Mw=250,000g/mol,MFR=10g/10min.TheCaCO3usedinthisstudywasobtainedfromSigma-Aldrich,withanaverageparticlesizeof2.5μm.ThePOFsusedinthisstudywereprocuredfromSorbentProductsCompany,withalengthof200μmandadiameterof15μm.

ThecompositefoamingmaterialwaspreparedbymeltblendingofPPEPDM,CaCO3,andPOFsusingaBrabendermixerat180°C.Aftermixing,themixturewascompressionmoldedusingahotpressat180°

C.Theresultingcompositefoamingmaterialwascutintotestspecimensofdimensions50mm×50mm×10mm.

TheoilabsorptionperformanceofthecompositefoamingmaterialwasevaluatedusingASTMD726-18method.Aknownamountofmotoroilwasaddedtoacontainer,andatestspecimenwasplacedontopoftheoil.Afteraspecifiedtimeinterval(30minutesinthisstudy),thetestspecimenwasremovedfromtheoilandweighed.Theoilabsorptioncapacitywascalculatedbysubtractingtheweightofthedryspecimenfromtheweightoftheoil-soakedspecimen.

ResultsandDiscussion:

TheoilabsorptionperformanceofthePPEPDMCaCO3POFscompositefoamingmaterialwasinvestigatedbyvaryingtheweightpercentageofeachconstituent(PPEPDM,CaCO3,andPOFs).TheresultsarepresentedinTable1.

ItcanbeobservedfromTable1thattheoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterialincreaseswithanincreaseintheweightpercentageofPOFs.ThiscanbeattributedtotheoilsorbentpropertiesofPOFs.ThePOFshaveahighsurfaceareaandarehydrophobic,whichenablesthemtoabsorboileffectively.Therefore,anincreaseintheweightpercentageofPOFsincreasestheoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterial.

InadditiontotheweightpercentageofPOFs,theweightpercentagesofPPEPDMandCaCO3alsoaffecttheoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterial.AnincreaseintheweightpercentageofCaCO3reducestheoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterial.ThiscanbeattributedtothelowerporosityofCaCO3comparedtoPPEPDMandPOFs.Ontheotherhand,anincreaseintheweightpercentageofPPEPDMalsoreducestheoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterial.ThiscanbeattributedtothelowerhydrophobicpropertiesofPPEPDMcomparedtoPOFs.

Conclusion:

ThePPEPDMCaCO3POFscompositefoamingmaterialwasdevelopedtoimprovetheoilabsorptionperformanceoftraditionalfoamingmaterials.Theoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterialwasevaluatedbyvaryingtheweightpercentageofeach

constituent.TheresultsindicatethattheoilabsorptioncapacityofthecompositefoamingmaterialincreaseswithanincreaseintheweightpercentageofPOFsanddecreaseswithanincreasein
