18、derly, of course” By adding “of course” at the end, the readers know that its not an honest mistake that Vanessas mother mentioned all of those sordid (骯臟的,墮落的) details, and it also confirms her attitude toward Piquette. The author accomplishes her intent to allow the readers to understand how cruel
