1、高中英語人教版必修二Unit2 The Olympic GamesUsing language The story of Atlanta 教學設計.設計思想:這是一篇生動有趣的希臘神話故事,以婦女在古代不能參加奧運會為背 景,講述了一位Atlanta的公主以“跑得比她快“為條件結婚,否那么將處死求婚 者。求婚者Hippomenes為了娶到公主,向愛神Goddess of love求助的故事。因為這是運用語言工程,所以本課的重心應在“運用”,讓學生充分運用 聽、說、讀、寫等各項技能來練習、表達。聽的局部主要是通過課文錄音來體 現;說的局部主要是通過小組討論和角色扮演來表達;讀的局部主要通過運用

2、skimming scanning careful reading等技能來回答下列問題、判斷正誤等表達;寫 的局部結合信息化教學的需要,以家庭作業的形式讓學生查找中西方神話或民 間傳說中有關愛情的故事,并制作成手抄報展示,讓學生逐步形成跨文化交際 的意識。.教材分析:本課時既與本單元第一局部Reading關于古代希臘奧運會的話題有一定聯 系,同時又是希臘文化的表達一希臘神話故事的一局部。通過本課的學習,可 以幫助學生更好地了解古代希臘的文化。它與本單元總體內容渾然一體,可以 延伸學生的知識視野。3.教學目標:語言知識目標1、The important words: glory, bargain

13、est in Greece, but she was not allowed to take part in the Olympic Games. She was angry and decided not to marry anyone who could not run faster than her. She made a bargain with her father and made her rules that if a man wanted to marry her, she would run against him. If he could not run as fast a

14、s her, he would be killled .Retelling (2)Something about Hippomenes:Hippomenes decided to marry Atlanta after he saw her. And he went to ask the Greek Goddess of Love for help . She promised to help him and gave him three golden apples. She told him to throw an apple in front of Atlanta when she was

15、 running fast. When she stopped to pick it up, he would be able to run past her and win. Hippomenes took the apples, went to the King and told him that he wanted to marry Atlanta.設計意圖:利用填空形式凸顯核心詞和短語,使學生從兩人不同的角度出 發,更深刻地理解兩人的情感,態度等。Step 6 Group discussionAsk the students to work in groups and discuss

16、the two questions.QI : Why did Atlanta make this rule?Q2: Why did Hippomenes change his mind in such a short time?設計意圖:這兩個問題既是對課文內容的深層理解,也可以作為開放性的 問題,開拓學生的發散性思維,同時也能引起學生的興趣。由于學生的思維存 在著個性差異,對同一問題有著不同的看法,這一開放性問題的設置使學生有 機會表達自己的看法和觀點,為不同層次的學生提供了適應個性需求的表現機 會;同時,這樣的討論還能充分激發學生的創造力和想象力。比方第一題學生 的回答可能涉及婚姻觀、男女
