6、 at SGS locationDistrict 85: May 17-19 in Beijing Global: August 21-24 in Cincinnati, USA (International only)Where Leaders Are Made Notes on Judge requirementsMust have completed at least 6 projects in CC ManualMust be a Toastmaster in good standing (paid member of a club)Cannot be an active contes

7、tant in speech contests at any level from club onward (could have already finished)Should not be from the same clubMust strive to be objective and fair, judge by the criteria on judging formRemain anonymous as much as practicalWhere Leaders Are Made Notes on Contestant requirementsAll ContestsMust b

10、ants know the rules and how they will be judged before the contest and they have submitted their eligibility forms. 12、es are familiar with how to use the ballots and how to properly judge each contestSelect the Tie-breaking judge from among the judges this is known only to the Chief Judge. His/her ballot is given directly to the Chief Judge and used only in the event that the regular judge scoring results in a tie.

13、Hold a briefing before the contest for timers and ballot counters to ensure they perform their roles correctlyDeliver a 5-8 minute evaluation of the contest at the endWhere Leaders Are Made Notes for Mandarin Humorous Contest:Use the downloaded materials (ballot counting sheets, timing sheets, judge

14、s ballots) for the English Humorous contest5-7 speech - can be any topic, but should avoid potentially objectionable language, stories, and materialSpeech needs to follow a theme with an opening, body, and conclusion and not just be a string of unrelated jokes.Contest Chair will introduce as: “Conte

15、stant Name, Speech Title, Speech Title, Contestant Name” nothing else will be said.Where Leaders Are Made Notes for Table Topics Contest:Use the downloaded materials (ballot counting sheets, timing sheets, judges ballots) for the Table Topics ContestContest Chair should create a question and keep it

16、 secret. Each contestant will get the same question. At the beginning of the contest after stating the rules, all contestants except the first must leave the room under SAA supervision and out of hearing range. Contest Chair will introduce as: “Contestant Name, Topic, Topic, Contestant Name” nothing

17、 else will be said.At conclusion of speech, next contestant may enter during 1 silence periodWhere Leaders Are Made Notes for International Speech Contest:Use the downloaded materials (ballot counting sheets, timing sheets, judges ballots) for the International Speech contest5-7 speech - can be any

18、topic, but people generally expect the speeches to be “inspirational speeches” such as from Project 10 in the CC Manual (not required).Speech needs to follow a theme with an opening, body, and conclusion and not just be a string of unrelated jokes.Contest Chair will introduce as: “Contestant Name, S

19、peech Title, Speech Title, Contestant Name” nothing else will be said.Where Leaders Are Made Notes for Announcing Winners:All Contestants should be presented with Certificate of Participation before announcing the winners. For each of the 3 contests, you may announce awards based on the number of co

20、ntestants:4 or less: You may only announce 1st & 2nd Place5 or more: You may announce 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place1st & 2nd Place winners will advance to Area and Division Level Contests.
