TheecosysteminTibetisextremelyfragile,andtheabilitytoresistdisturbanceandregenerateisweak.Oncetheecosystemisdamaged,itishardtorestoreitforalongperiodoftime.Formorethan50yearsTibethasadheredtothestrategyofsustainabledevelopment,ensuringtheclosecombinationandcoordinateddevelopmentofecologicalimprovement,environmentalprotectionandeconomicconstruction.Whiletheeconomydevelopsrapidlyandthepeople’slivingstandardsareconstantlyrising,theecologicalenvironmentisbeingeffectivelyprotected.Inaccordancewiththelatestmonitoringfindings,theenvironmentofwaterandtheatmosphereinTibetareunpolluted.NomajorenvironmentalpollutionaccidenthasoccurredinTibet,andmostofitsmajorriversandlakesareinaprimordialstate.
