1、Module 4 Home alone【教材分析】Module 4的主要內(nèi)容為運用讓步狀語從句和結果狀語從句來描述自己單獨在家的經(jīng)歷。從全書來看,本模塊承接上一模塊對狀語從句的學習和運用,內(nèi)容有層次的展開,學生容易接受。Unit 1 I can look after myself, although it wont be easy for me.【教學目標】Knowledge objective詞匯和短語: platform, meeting, miss, shut, lock, simple, anybody, clock, ring, passenger, address, text, t

2、ext message, couple, a couple of結果狀語從句Ability objective能聽懂和閱讀關于介紹單獨在家經(jīng)歷的語言材料,能通過相關詞匯和圖片描述自己和他人單獨在家的經(jīng)歷;能編寫關于獨自在家的對話。Moral objective學會傾聽他人獨自在家的經(jīng)歷,理解他人的喜怒哀樂;養(yǎng)成關心、幫助他人的良好品質(zhì)?!窘虒W重點】結果狀語從句和讓步狀語從句。【教學方法】PWP method, task-based method and interactive approach 【教學手段】A tape recorder, multimedia and some picture

3、s【教學過程】Teaching Procedures:Step 1 Warming up What do you usually do to look after yourself when you are at home alone?Step 2 Presentation The teachers shows the pictures of new words or expressions and let the students to say as quickly as possible.Step 3 Work in pairs. (貝蒂, 你不能和我們一起去, 很遺憾), 表示“我也很遺憾無法同行”。 “So + be/助動詞+主語”這一結構表示自己與前一個人的情況相同或同意一個人的說法, 意思是“也這樣”。e.g. Joe was a little upset, and so was I. 喬有點不開心, 我也有點兒。 He has been ill, and so has his wife. 他一直生著病, 他妻子也一樣。 Neil left just after midnight, and so did Jack.

8、尼爾一過午夜就走了, 杰克也是。 miss v. 未出席; 未出現(xiàn)出現(xiàn)動詞時, 應該用動詞的-ing形式。e.g. Get up early or you will miss the early bus. She missed going to the party on Saturday. miss作動詞還有“想念”的意思。miss作名詞意為“女士; 小姐”, 此時m必須大寫, 常用于姓名或姓之前, 尤指未婚女子。如: Miss Brown。2. There wont be anybody to wake you up in the morning. anybody pron. 任何人 常用于

9、否定句或疑問句中; 當用于肯定句 中時, 相當于any person, 意為“任何人” e.g. I will not tell anybody the secret.       Is there anybody in the office?       Anybody could do it! 3. My clock ring so loudly that it will certainly wake me up. ring v. 鳴響; 發(fā)出鈴聲 e.g. The

10、60;telephone is ringing. 電話鈴響了。 ring作動詞還有“打電話”的意思。 e.g. Ill ring you up as soon as they arrive. 他們一到我就給你打電話。4. Your train is about to leave. be about to do sth. 的意思是“就要/正要”. e.g. We were just about to leave when Jerry arrived. 杰里來的時候, 我們正準備走。 She looked as if she was about to cry. 她看上去好像要哭

See you in a couple of weeks! couple 作名詞, 意為“一對; 兩個”。它常用于固定短語a couple of, 表示“兩個”。 e.g. She has a couple of friends at school. 她在學校有兩個朋友。 辨析:couple/pair 這兩個名詞均有“一對; 兩個”之意。couple 多指在一起或彼此有關系的兩個人或兩個同樣的事物; pair 含義廣泛, 可指人或物, 用于物時, 指兩個互屬的事物, 缺此或失彼都會失去使用價值, 或指由相對稱的兩部分構成的一件東西。e.g. I found a couple of s

Can you turn it off?【鏈接】與turn off 相關的短語有turn on(打開), turn up(把調(diào)高), turn down(把調(diào)低)。如:Can you help me turn on the TV

25、?Please turn down your radio.4. I became so bored with their orders that I wished they would leave me alone. order 可以作名詞表示“命令;指示”,此時是可數(shù)名詞。如: They received orders to start at once. We should obey the orders of the teacher. order 還常用作動詞, 表示“命令; 訂購; 點(酒菜等)”。如:The police ordered them to wait right there

The next morning I woke up late. wake up 意為“叫醒”。 當wake up的賓語是名詞時, 賓語可放在wake和up的中間或up的后面; 當wake up的賓語是代詞時, 賓語只能放在wake和up的中間。 e.g. Dont wake up the baby. = Dont wake the baby up. Lets wake him up now.7. The teacher asked me for my homework, but I could not hand it in. hand

My clock rings_ loudly _ it will certainly wake me up.Step 2 Grammar 結果狀語從句和讓步狀語從句 1. sothat引導的結果狀語從句sothat結構的意思是“太以至 于”。so后面接形容詞或副詞, 表示程度, that后接從句表示這一程度造成的影響或結果。e.g. We were so noisy that our next-door neighbour came to complain. 我們太吵了, 以致隔壁鄰居前來抱怨。 I was so careless that I forgot som

36、ething important. 我真是粗心, 以致忘記了重要的事情。 He speaks so fast that I cannot understand him. 他說話太快了, 以致我沒理解他的意思。2. 讓步狀語從句although引導的讓步狀語從句, 表示“盡管, (但是)”。e.g. I can look after myself, although it wont be easy for me. 我還是可以照顧自己的, 雖然這對我來說不容易。 Although Kevin is alone, he is very happy at first. 盡管凱文獨自一人(在家), 但他

37、剛開始還是挺高興的。讓步狀語從句也可以由though引導, 表示表示“盡管, (但是)”。在一般情況下, 可以與由although引導的讓步狀語從句互換使用。在口語中, though較為常用。e.g. He went on fighting, though he was wounded. 盡管受了傷, 他還是繼續(xù)戰(zhàn)斗。 注意: 漢語中“雖然/盡管”與“但是”往往同時使用, 但在英語中卻不是這樣。e.g. I do not often make dinner, but I can cook. 我不經(jīng)常做飯, 但是我會做。 Although I do not often make dinner,

38、I can cook. 雖然我不經(jīng)常做飯, 但是我會做。 對比這兩個句子可以看出, 在英語中,although與but通常是不能同時使用的。Step 3 Complete the sentences with the words in the box. There may be more than one answer. although but that1.
