TRANSFORMERS
ThisChapterappliestoapprovalandinspectionofDry-typetransformersforpowerandlighting(includingsinglephasetransformersratedat1kVAormoreandthree-phasetransformersratedat5kVAormore)installedandusedonshipsandoffshoreinstallations.Acceptanceofliquidimmersedtypetransformersissubjecttospecialconsideration.TheLiquid-immersedtransformersshallmeettherequirementsofChapter2,PartFourofCCSRulesandtheapplicablepartorotherequivalentstandardsoftheIEC60076series.Instrumenttransformerandauto-transformercanbeimplementedbyreference.

ThetermsanddefinitionsusedinthisChapterareconsistentwiththoseofIEC60076.

ThefollowingplansanddocumentsaretobesubmittedtoCCSforapproval:
Generalplans;
Drawingsofmainpartsincludingframe,cliquids,ironcores,terminalboxes,enclosures(ifapplicable);
Technicalspecificationsoftheproducts;
Typetestprogramme.
ThefollowingplansanddocumentsaretobesubmittedtoCCSforinformation:
Operationinstructionsfortheproducts;
Processflowdiagramindicatingqualitycontrolpoints;
Documentsofmanufacturingprocedures,coveringwinding,sheetmetalprocessing,painting(ifapplicable),lamination,insertion,vacuumdippingcoating(ifapplicable),drying(ifapplicable),welding,polyestercasting(ifapplicable)andvariouscalculationsheets(tables);
Listoftypes(trademarks)andsuppliersofmainrawmaterials(e.g.magneticwires,siliconsteelsheets,insulationpaperandinsulatingpaints);
Drawingofexternalwiring.
Designandtechnicalrequirements
MarinetransformersaretocomplywithIEC60092-303andinaddition,thefollowingrequirements:
Alltransformers,exceptthoseusedformotorstarting,aretobedoublewoundorhavemultiplewindings,withnoelectricalconnectionsbetweenprimaryandsecondarywindings.
Thecoolingmethodofdry-typetransformerisdetailedinArticle5.8.3ofIEC60076-11,IncludingAN、AN/AF、AFWF、WF.IfthecoolingmodeisAFWFandWF,effectivemeasuresshouldbesetuptopreventtheaccumulationofmoistureandcondensatewater.
Thevoltageregulation,Temperaturerise,Short-circuitshallcomplywiththerequirementsofChapter3,PartFourofChinaClassificationSocietyRulesforClassificationofSea-goingSteelShips.
Properterminalsandclearmarksshouldbeprovidedforoutsidewirings.Theterminalsshouldbeprotectedandisolatedfromeachothertoavoidaccidentalgrounding,shortcircuitorbeingtouched.
Transformersshouldhaveagroundingterminalforprotectionuse.Allthemetalpartswhicharenotelectricallychargedshouldhavestructuralmethodtobeconnectedtothegroundingterminal.
Marinetransformerswithmetalenclosuresaretocomplywiththeabove-mentionedstandardsaninaddition,thefollowingrequirements.
Metalenclosuresaretobeofsufficientmechanicalstrengthformechanicalprotection,normaloperationandsafehandlingoftransformers.
Metalenclosuresaretohavesufficientspacetomaintainenoughairclearanceandcreepagedistancebetweenconductingpartsandbetweenconductingpartsandnon-conductingpartsoftransformersinsidemetalenclosures.Whenatransformermountedinthemetalenclosureisinnormaloperation,thetemperatureriseistocomplywiththerequirementsofChapter3,PartFourofChinaClassificationSocietyRulesforClassificationofSea-goingSteelShips.
Degreeofprotectionprovidedbymetalenclosuresistobeappropriatetotheambientconditionsofthelocationwheretransformersareinstalled.Fortransformerswithvoltageratinghigherthan1kV,followingrequirementsaretobecompliedwith:TheenclosureprotectionclassshouldbeatleastIP23.Ifinstalledinlocationswhichcanbeaccessedbyunprofessionalpersonnel,theenclosureprotectionclassshouldbeatleastIP4X,theinstallationshouldcomplywithCCSRulesPartFour.
Fortransformersusedforelectricpropulsion,thealarmanddisplayofhightransformerwindingtemperatureshallmeettherequirementsofTableChapter15,PartEightofCCSRules.
Thevoltageregulationshallcomplywiththeprovisionsof,Chapter3ofArticle4of"SteelRegulation",andcanbeobtainedbythecalculationofimpedancevoltageandloadloss.
Inthespecifiedloadandpowerfactor,thevoltageregulationiscalculatedaccordingtotheformula(1):

Whentheshortcircuitimpedanceis4%orbelow,thevoltageregulationcanbecalculatedaccordingtoformula(2):

Formula:Ua-voltagereductionfromshort-circuitimpedanceandloadloss,V;Ux-voltagereductionfromshort-circuitimpedanceandloadloss,V;n-loadcoefficient(ratioofloadtoratedcapacity);

Materialsandcomponents
MaterialsandcomponentsshouldbecontrolledbytherelevantrequirementsofCCScurrentrules.
Shallbeincludedinthelistofeligiblesuppliers,ThelistofmanufacturerforthefollowingmaterialsandcomponentsoftheproductshouldnotbechangedwithouttheSociety'sapproval:Siliconsteelsheet,copperwire/aluminumwire/copperfliquid/aluminumfliquid.
Typetest
Dry-typetransformersaretobesubjectedtotypetestaccordingtothefollowingrequirements.
Unlessotherwisespecified,alltestsshallbecarriedoutunderenvironmentalconditionsof5℃~40℃.

Selectionoftypicalsamples
TypetestsamplesaretobetakenfromqualifiedproductsbyCCSSurveyoratthemanufacturer.
InthecaseofinitialtypeapprovalAtleastonemarinetransformeristobetakenastest
sample(moremaybetakenifnecessary),ifthecapacityoftheproductapplyingforapprovalisnotlargerthan200kVA,thecapacityofwhichistobethemaximumintheproductstobeapproved.Ifthecapacityoftheproductapplyingforapprovalislargerthan200kVA,thenthetestsamplecanbechosebetweenrange50%~100%,butitisneededtoconfirmthatthemanufacturerhastheabilitytoproducethemaximumcapacity.Wheredifferentinsulationlevelsandconstructionsaretobecoveredbyapproval,relatedproductsaretobesampledrespectively.
Ifenvironmentaltestsarerestrictedbytestequipment(suchasdampheattest),asmallertransformerofthesametypemaybetakenastestsample.
Testorganization
Inthecaseoftypeapproval,thetypetestshallgenerallybecarriedoutatanCCS-approvedtestingagency.Iftheequipmentmanufacturingplanthasastandardtestenvironment,testequipmentandsuitableinspectionpersonnel,withtheconsentoftheCCS,thetypetestmaybecarriedoutinthelaboratoryofthemanufacturingplantandwitnessedbytheCCSsurveyoronthespot.
