AsIwatchedthistransformation,Icouldn'thelpbutfeeladeepsenseofwonder.Herewasalivingthing,sosimpleyetsocomplexatthesametime.Itmademerealizehowplantsarenotjustpassiveobjectsbutactiveparticipantsintheecosystem.Theyareconstantlyadaptingandevolvingtosurvive.

Istartedtothinkabouthowimportantsunlightisforalllivingthings.Withoutit,plantscouldn'tcarryoutphotosynthesis,andwithoutplants,theentirefoodchainwouldbedisrupted.Itwasahumblingthought,torealizethatsuchabasicelementlikelightcouldhavesuchaprofoundimpactonlifeonEarth.
