“findit+adj.+todosth.”意為“發現做某事是……的”。find后接復合賓語,其中it在此處作形式賓語,真正的賓語是后面的動詞不定式todosth.,形容詞在句中作賓語補足語。

getusedto相當于beusedto,意為“習慣于……”,其中to為介詞,其后可接名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式。

e.g.:Shegets/isusedtogettingupearly.

【辨析】get/beusedto(doing)sth.,usedtodosth.與beusedtodosth.

(1)get/beusedto(doing)sth.意為“習慣于(做)某事”。to為介詞,其后可接名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式,可用于現在、過去、將來等多種時態。

e.g.:Hegets/isusedtogoingtobedlate.(2)usedtodosth.意為“過去常常做某事”。to為動詞不定式符號,只用于過去時態。e.g.:Heusedtoreadabookbeforehewenttobed,butnowheisusedtolisteningtomusic.(3)beusedtodosth.意為“被用于做某事”。是被動語態,動詞不定式表示目的,可用于多種時態。

e.g.:Letmehelpthem.(2)givesb.somesuggestionsandadvice意為“給某人一些建議和意見。”

e.g.:TheteachergavemesomesuggestionsandadviceabouthowtolearnEnglishwell.(3)suggestion此處用作可數名詞,意為“建議”。其動詞形式是suggest,意為“建議”。

e.g.:Ihaveasuggestiontomake.Iwentthereat/onyoursuggestion.(4)advice不可數名詞,意為“建議;意見”。表示“一條建議”應用apieceofadvice,而不能說anadvice。其常用短語還有:askforsb.'sadvice向某人征求建議;givesb.someadviceon...在……方面給某人一些勸告;accept/follow/takesb.'sadvice接受某人的建議。8.Inmanycountries,itisimpolitetoshowupatsomeone’shouseforthefirsttimewithemptyhands.在許多國家,第一次拜訪別人家空著手是不禮貌的。(教材第78頁)showup意為“出席;露面”,相當于appear。

1.if引導的賓語從句Idon'tknowifhewillcometomorrow.=Idon’tknowwhetherhewillcometomorrow.賓語從句中,當從句的成分完整、意思缺少“是否”之意時,連詞可用if;可以和whether互換。

注意:1.if引導的從句不能直接與ornot連用。2.當賓語從句提到句首時,不能用if,只能用whether引導。3.if不能引導帶to的不定式,也不能放于介詞后作賓語。由連詞if引導的賓語從句和條件狀語從句

2.if引導的狀語從句Ifhecomestomorrow,wewillplaybasketball.=Wewillplaybasketballifhecomestomorrow.
