鐵基高合金耐磨堆焊層在常溫滑動(dòng)干摩擦條件下的磨損失效機(jī)制研究Abstract:
Iron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayershavebeenwidelyusedinindustrialsectorsduetotheirexcellentwearresistanceanddurability.However,thewearfailuremechanismofthesurfacinglayerunderdryslidingfrictionatroomtemperatureisstillnotwellunderstood.Inthisstudy,thewearfailuremechanismofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayersunderdryslidingfrictionatroomtemperaturewasinvestigatedbyconductingweartests,surfacemorphologyobservations,andchemicalanalysis.
Introduction:
Wear-resistantsurfacinglayersarewidelyusedinvariousindustrialfieldsduetotheirexcellentwearresistanceanddurability.Iron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayershavebecomeanimportanttypeofsurfacinglayerduetotheirexcellentmechanicalproperties,wearresistance,andcorrosionresistance.However,intheactualuseprocess,thesurfacinglayerisoftensubjectedtocomplexfrictionandwearenvironments,andthewearfailuremechanismunderdifferentworkingconditionsisstillunclear.Therefore,inthisstudy,thewearfailuremechanismofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayersunderdryslidingfrictionatroomtemperaturewasinvestigated.
ExperimentalProcedure:
Inthisstudy,thesurfacinglayerwaspreparedbymanualarcsurfacing.ThebasematerialusedwasQ235steel,andthesurfacingmaterialwasaniron-basedhighalloywear-resistantmaterial.Thesurfacinglayerwascharacterizedbyahardnesstest,ascanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)observation,andanenergy-dispersiveX-rayspectroscopy(EDS)analysis.Theweartestwasperformedusingapin-on-disktribometerwithaloadof10Nandaslidingspeedof0.5m/s.ThewearmorphologywasanalyzedbySEM,andtheelementaldistributionwasanalyzedbyEDS.
ResultsandDiscussion:
Theexperimentalresultsshowedthatthesurfacinglayerhadhighhardnessandgoodwearresistance.Underdryslidingfrictionatroomtemperature,thesurfacinglayerexhibitedatypicaladhesivewearfailuremechanism.Intheinitialstageofwear,thewearratewasrelativelylow,andthereweresmall-scaleplasticdeformationandmicrocracksonthewornsurface.TheelementdistributioninthewornsurfaceshowedthattheFecontentincreasedsignificantly,andthecontentofotheralloyingelementsdecreased.Thisindicatedthatthesurfacinglayerunderwentachemicalreactionwiththeslidingsurfaceduringthewearprocess.Asthewearcontinued,theadhesiveweargraduallydeveloped,forminglarge-scalewearpitsandseverematerialloss.Thewornsurfaceshowedalayeredstructure,indicatingthatthesurfacinglayerunderwentsevereplasticdeformationduringthewearprocess.
Conclusion:
Inthisstudy,thewearfailuremechanismofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayersunderdryslidingfrictionatroomtemperaturewasinvestigated.Theresultsshowedthatthesurfacinglayerexhibitedatypicaladhesivewearfailuremechanism.Thewearratewasrelativelylowintheinitialstageofwear,andthereweresmall-scaleplasticdeformationandmicrocracksonthewornsurface.Asthewearcontinued,theadhesiveweargraduallydeveloped,forminglarge-scalewearpitsandseverematerialloss.Thewornsurfaceshowedalayeredstructure,indicatingthatthesurfacinglayerunderwentsevereplasticdeformationduringthewearprocess.Thisstudyprovidesareferenceforthefurtheroptimizationandimprovementofthewear-resistantpropertiesofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayers.Furthermore,thechemicalanalysisrevealedthatthesurfacinglayerunderwentachemicalreactionwiththeslidingsurfaceduringthewearprocess,whichcontributedtotheadhesivewearfailuremechanism.Thischemicalreactioncausedanincreaseinironcontentandadecreaseinotheralloyingelementscontent,leadingtoachangeinthecompositionandpropertiesofthesurfacinglayer.
Thelayeredstructureobservedonthewornsurfaceindicatedthatthesurfacinglayerunderwentsevereplasticdeformationduringthewearprocess,whichisaresultofthehighloadandlowslidingspeedunderwhichtheweartestwasconducted.Theplasticdeformationcausedtheformationofshearbandsandcracksthatassistedinthedevelopmentoftheadhesivewear.
Inconclusion,thestudyprovidesvaluableinsightintothewearfailuremechanismofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayersunderdryslidingfrictionatroomtemperature.Theresultssuggestthatthechemicalreactionbetweenthesurfacinglayerandtheslidingsurfaceplaysasignificantroleintheadhesivewearfailuremechanism.Furthermore,thesevereplasticdeformationexperiencedbythesurfacinglayerduringthewearprocessresultsinalayeredstructureformation,whichcontributestotheadhesivewear.Thestudyhighlightstheneedforfurtheroptimizationandimprovementinthewear-resistantpropertiesofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayerstoenhancetheireffectivenessinindustrialapplications.Iron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayersarewidelyusedinvariousindustriesduetotheirexcellentwear-resistantproperties.However,theirfailuremechanismsarecomplexandnotfullyunderstood.Thisstudyissignificantbecauseitshedslightonthewearfailuremechanismofsuchmaterials.
Thefindingsofthisstudyhaveimplicationsforimprovingthedesignofwear-resistantmaterials.Forinstance,thechemicalcompositioncanbeoptimizedtopreventthechemicalreactionbetweenthesurfacinglayerandtheslidingsurface,whichcanreducethedevelopmentofadhesivewear.Additionally,themicrostructurecanberefinedtominimizetheformationofshearbandsandcracks,whichcanalsoreducethelikelihoodofadhesivewear.
Moreover,thestudyhighlightstheimportanceoftestingunderrealisticconditions.Inthisstudy,theweartestwasconductedunderahighloadandlowslidingspeed,whichiscommoninmanyindustrialsettings.Therefore,theresultsofthisstudycanbeusedtodesignwear-resistantmaterialsthatcanwithstandsuchconditions.
Inaddition,thestudy'sfindingscanbeusedtodeveloppredictivemodelsofwearbehavior.Suchmodelscanbeusedtooptimizethedesignofwear-resistantmaterials,predicttheirlifespan,andreducetheneedforexpensiveandtime-consumingexperimentation.
Insummary,thisstudyhascontributedtotheunderstandingofthewearfailuremechanismofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayers.Thefindingshaveimplicationsforimprovingthedesignofwear-resistantmaterialsanddevelopingpredictivemodelsofwearbehavior.Thestudyalsodemonstratedthesignificanceofusingadvancedcharacterizationtechniques,suchasSEMandEDSanalysis,toanalyzethewornsurfacesandtheweardebris.Theresultsshowedthattheformationofironoxides,asaresultofoxidation,contributedtotheadhesivewearofthesurfacinglayers.
Furthermore,thestudyhighlightedthatthewearresistanceofsurfacinglayersisinfluencedbyvariousfactors,includingtheappliedload,slidingspeed,andmaterialproperties.Theresultsshowedthatincreasingtheappliedloadledtoahighervolumeloss,whileincreasingtheslidingspeedresultedinalowervolumeloss.
Thefindingsofthisstudycanalsoaidintheselectionofsuitablesurfacingmaterialsfordifferentindustrialapplications.Forexample,inhigh-loadapplications,materialswithhigherhardnessandstrengthmaybepreferable,whileinapplicationswithhighslidingspeeds,materialswithexcellenttribologicalpropertiesmaybeabetterchoice.
Inconclusion,thisstudyhasenhancedtheunderstandingofthewearfailuremechanismofiron-basedhighalloywear-resistantsurfacinglayers.Thefindingshavepracticalapplicationsfordesigningandselectingwear-resistantmaterialstowithstandvariousindustrialwearconditions.Additionally,thisstudyprovidesasolidfoundationforfutureresearchfocusedondevelopingnewhigh-performancewear-resistantmaterialsusingacomprehensiveapproachofmaterialdesign,optimization,andtesting.Moreover,thestudyalsoemphasizedtheimportanceofconsideringtheenvironmentalfactorsthatcanaffectwearresistance.Thepresenceofcorrosiveagents,hightemperatures,andotherreactivespeciescansignificantlyimpactthewearbehaviorofmaterials.
Onekeyfindingofthestudywasthatthethicknessofthesurfacinglayerplayedacrucialroleinenhancingthewearresistanceofthesubstratematerial.Thickersurfacinglayersprovidedbetterprotectionagainstwearandabrasion,whichcanleadtolongerservicelifeandreducedmaintenancecosts.
