5、ing skills.3.Teaching difficult points(教學難點) :To develop the students reading ability.4. Design thinking(教學反思):The reading passage A NIGHT THE EARTH DIDNTSLEEP is the high light of the whole unit. It lays emphasis onreading and understanding.In order to stimulate students learning enthusiasm, I uses
6、ome flashes,pictures and words to lead them in: first I usedPPT to show students a cartoon figure called “Mr. Nature ”show some pictures of disasters to let students recognize them,thus can develop students i nterest in learning by adding ahuman element to the natural world. Ask students whetherthey
7、 have experienced an earthquake to improve theirunderstanding of the causes of earthquakes. let the studentsdiscuss the warning signs before an earthquake and enable themto realize these strange signs in order to get ready to avoidunnecessary losses. Finally let the students look at the title ANIGHT
8、 THE EARTH DIDNT SLEEP and understand themeaning of it.In the part of fast-reading, I list some new words in thisunit and paraphrase them in English to improve the thinkingability of the students. Then skim the passage and answer a fewquestions which are not very difficult to them to arouse theirint
9、erest in learning .While reading intensively, I make the students listen to thetape in the process of reading so as to achieve the unity oflistening and reading. Intensive reading is divided into threeparts: true or false,fill in the forms and retell the passage. Trueor false examines students under
10、standing of the article. Fill inthe forms is a supplement to the right and wrong. Retell thepassage requests the students to combine with what they wrotein the form, thus can improve students oral Englis,h. MeanwhileI play the part of the movie of TangShan Earthquake directed byFeng Xiaogang to make
11、 the students feel the havoc of theearthquakes and deepen the understanding of the content toarouse students interest in the text.The part of post reading was based on the comprehensionof the passage. Students can not only improve their ability ofcommunication ,but also gain knowledge of protectingt
12、hemselves from various kinds of disasters by discussion andinterviews. When he is happy, he stays calm andshows us beautiful natural scenery. But when he gets angry, hebecomes a troublemaker and causes many natural disa

Sometimes theystop for years but at other times they jump and an earthquake is felt.An earthquake is the result of the movement of these plates.Teacher: We know China is a country where many earthquakeshappen. 18、e, the Indian plate movednorthwards and put pressure on the Eurasian plate. It led to the riseof the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Then the risen Qinghai-Tibet Plateaumoved eastwards and put pressure on Sichuan Basin. At last, theWenchuan earthquake happened. Wenchuan is located on solid rockof the active
19、earthquake belt, which makes the quake spread very far.It was felt in many provinces in China, including Shanxi Province.Teacher: Usually we can see dark clods in the sky before rain.
