This mome ntous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in
2、 the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long ni ght of bad captivity.?But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the man acles of segregati on and the cha ins of discrim in at
3、i on. One hun dred years later, the Negro lives on a Ion ely isla nd of poverty in the midst of a vast ocea n of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we ve come here today to dram
4、atize a shameful con diti on.?I am not unmin dful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulati ons. Some of you have come fresh from n arrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecuti on and staggered by
5、 the winds of police brutality. You have bee n the vetera ns of creative sufferi ng. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Ameri
7、ca n dream.?I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live up to the true meaning of its creed:“ We hold these truths to be self-evide nt; that all menare created equal. ” ?I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owne
8、rs will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.?I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be tran sformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.?I have a dream that my four c
9、hildre n will one day live in a n ati on where they will not be judged by the color if their skin but by the content of their character.?I have a dream today.?I have a dream that one day dow n in Alabama with its gover nor hav ing his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification,
10、one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.?I have a dream today.?have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will b
11、e made pla in, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.?This is our hope. 19、受種種困難和挫折,我仍然有一個夢 想。這個夢是深深扎根于美國的夢想中的。?我夢想有一天,這個國家會站立起來,真正實現其信條的真諦:“我們認為這些真理是不 言而喻的;人人生而平等?!??我夢想有一天,在佐治亞的紅山上,昔日奴隸的兒子將能夠和昔日奴隸主的兒子坐在一起, 共敘兄弟情誼。?我夢想有一天,甚至連密西西比州這個正義匿跡,壓迫成風,如同沙漠般的地方,也將變 成自由和正義的綠洲。?我夢想有一天,我的四個孩子將在一個不是以他們的膚色,而是以他們的品格優劣來評判 他們的國度里生活。?我今天有一個夢想。我夢想有一天,阿拉巴馬州能夠有所轉變,盡管該州州長現在仍然滿口異議,反對聯邦法 令,但有著一日,那里的黑人男孩和女孩將能夠與白人男孩和女孩情同骨肉,攜手并進。我今
