ResponseLetter的格式、相關寫法及示例本文整理自研之成理（ID:rationalscience），轉載請聯系原作者01基本原則首先，還是重申下ResponseLetter回復的幾個基本原則：回復審稿人意見時，要把握的幾個基本原則是：1)態度和善，措辭誠懇，不要激怒審稿人；2)回答問題時，層次要分明，抓住審稿人問題的重點，直面審稿人的問題，不要妄想著繞圈圈搪塞過去；3)回答問題不是光嘴上說說就好，要有理有據，需要補充實驗的，要用實驗結果來說明，需要引用文獻的，找到合適的文獻進行闡述；4)盡可能讓審稿人輕松起來，所以格式很關鍵，不要偷懶，文章中哪些地方進行了修改，在Responseletter里面要指明，并最好列出來；如果對正文或者SI里面的圖表進行了修改，在responseletter里面也要同步貼上去，不要將審稿人的時間浪費在幫你找文件當中；應該適當地使用粗體斜體或者下劃線，幫助審稿人抓住你回答問題的重點；5)審稿人的意見并不總是對的，所以不要別人說啥就是啥，科學原則不能違背。如果審稿人的意見有誤，應該委婉地利用充實的證據來堅持自己的觀點，請不要使用過激的語言。02格式重點推薦下面這種格式：1)Generalresponse:在逐條回復每個審稿人的意見之前，先總體回復一下，感謝編輯和審稿人對文章提出的寶貴意見，同時對responseletter的格式進行簡單說明，具體如下：Generalresponse:Wesincerelythanktheeditorandallreviewersfortheirvaluablefeedbackthatwehaveusedtoimprovethequalityofourmanuscript.Thereviewercommentsarelaidoutbelowinitalicizedfontandspecificconcernshavebeennumbered.Ourresponseisgiveninnormalfontandchanges/additionstothemanuscriptaregiveninbluetext.請注意：這里在格式上非常明確的一點就是：將審稿人的意見一條條編號，并用斜體標記出來，這樣一目了然，審稿人可以很輕松地區分問題和回復意見；此外，對于文章中做出的標記，用不同顏色的字體標記出來，這樣審稿人不需要再回到論文中去找，非常方便。這里還是重申一下這個基本原則：你替審稿人省事了，他才會讓你省心！2)Point-to-pointresponse：將審稿人的意見（斜體）一條條編號，然后逐一回復（正常的字體），回復時，以Authorreply或者response等字眼開頭：這里舉一個例子（論文：Chem.Mater.2015,27,8011-8020）1.TheauthorssuggestthatabimetallicAu-Feoxide/hydroxideformsattheelectrodeinterfaceleadingtoenhancedOERactivity.Characterizationofthebimetallicsystemwouldaddstrengthtothisargument.Response:Weagreethatmorestudywouldbeusefultounderstanddetailsofinteractionandenhancement.Atthispointwedonothavethenecessarytool-settostudythestructure/interactionintheproposedamorphousbimetallic(hydrated)oxide.Wehope,inthefuture,toemploysynchrotronX-raytechniquestodeterminethelocalcoordinationofFeintheputativemixedAu-Feoxidephase.ThisstudyisbeyondthescopeofthisreportwhichfocusesonansweringcriticalquestionsregardingtheactivityoftheFeOOHphaseitself.WenotealsothatsincesubmissionofourmanuscripttherehasbeenapublicationbyAlexBellandMartinHead-GordonatBerkeleyshowingthatFeonAu2O3hasenhancedOERactivitywithDFTcalculations(Ref.79).Wehaveaddedthiscitationandreferencetothemanuscript.Weaddedto26:WealsonotethatthisdataisconsistentwiththeexperimentsanddensityfunctionaltheorycalculationsbyKlauset.al.(publishedduringthereviewprocessofthismanuscript)thatshowFecationsonthesurfaceofAu2O3haveenhancedOERactivityrelativetoFeOOH.79格式解析：這里所采用的格式在Generalresponse中已經做出了說明，重點就是通過字體，顏色將不同的內容區分開來，這樣一目了然。還有一點值得注意的是：如果文章中添加了新的參考文獻，在response里面提到的時候，應該注明“Ref.79”等字樣，提醒審稿人你已經將相關內容加入到正文中。內容解析：這里之所以列出這一條回復是因為里面有很多值得關注的東西，這里一并做出解析。03補充實驗重點：審稿人要求補充實驗，但客觀條件上不允許怎么辦？A.首先，應該對審稿人的意見表示贊同：Weagreethatmorestudywouldbeusefultounderstanddetailsofinteractionandenhancement.B.然后，應該對實際情況進行說明：Atthispointwedonothavethenecessarytool-settostudythestructure/interactionintheproposedamorphousbimetallic(hydrated)oxide.請注意，這里僅針對確實沒有辦法獲得相關實驗結果的情況，如果有可能，審稿人提出需要補充實驗，一定按照審稿人的要求進行補充。C.進一步表明態度，指出哪些方法可能可以解決審稿人提出的問題，并表示后期會進行相關研究：Wehope,inthefuture,toemploysynchrotronX-raytechniquestodeterminethelocalcoordinationofFeintheputativemixedAu-Feoxidephase.ThisstudyisbeyondthescopeofthisreportwhichfocusesonansweringcriticalquestionsregardingtheactivityoftheFeOOHphaseitself.D.實驗上暫時無法提供數據來回答審稿人的問題，就一定需要從文獻中找到依據來說明：WenotealsothatsincesubmissionofourmanuscripttherehasbeenapublicationbyAlexBellandMartinHead-GordonatBerkeleyshowingthatFeonAu2O3hasenhancedOERactivitywithDFTcalculations(Ref.79).04常用語句示例1.審稿人對語言不滿意怎么辦？Thepaperispoorlywritten,theuseofEnglishneedtobeimprovedalloverthemanuscript.個人意見：回復簡單一點沒有關系，重點是讓審稿人看到你確實對論文的語言做出了相應的修改，下面是一些實例：A:Wetriedourbesttoimprovethemanuscriptandmadesomechangesinthemanuscript.Thesechangeswillnotinfluencethecontentandframeworkofthepaper.Andherewedidnotlistthechangesbutmarkedinredinrevisedpaper.WeappreciateforEditors/Reviewers’warmworkearnestly,andhopethatthecorrectionwillmeetwithapproval.B：Thanksforyoursuggestion.Wefeelsorryforourpoorwritings,however,wedoinviteafriendofuswhoisanativeEnglishspeakerfromUSAhelppolishourarticle.Andwehopetherevisedmanuscriptcouldbeacceptableforyou.C.Thanksforyoursuggestion.Wehavetriedourbesttopolishthelanguageintherevisedmanuscript.2.單詞拼寫錯了怎么辦？OnpageX,lineY,'XXX'shouldbe'YYY'.A：Wesincerelythankthereviewerforcarefulreading.Assuggestedbythereviewer,wehavecorrectedthe“___”into“___”.B.Wefeelsorryforourcarelessness.Inourresubmittedmanuscript,thetypoisrevised.Thanksforyourcorrection.C.Wehavecarefullycheckedthemanuscriptandcorrectedtheerrorsaccordingly.3.審稿人讓加文獻怎么辦？Ref.14,e.g.,iscertainlynottheonlypaperonXXXbutthereistonsofpapersonthisverysubject!Pleasechecktheliterature!A：Wesincerelyappreciatethevaluablecomments.Wehavecheckedtheliteraturescarefullyandaddedmorereferenceson___and___intotheINTRODUCTIONpartintherevisedmanuscript.OnXXX，Chenetal.,J.Am.Chem.Soc.2011,2,34-56;Lietal.,Science.2011,2,34-56;OnYYY,Chenetal.,J.Am.Chem.Soc.2011,2,34-56;Lietal.,Science.2011,2,34-56;B.Assuggestedbythereviewer,wehaveaddedmorereferencestosupportthisidea(Chenetal.,J.Am.Chem.Soc.2011,2,34-56;Lietal.,Science.2011,2,34-56).AccordingtoChenetal.,___is...4.審稿人讓補實驗怎么辦？Itwouldbenicetoseewhathappenstothecatalyticsystemafterthefirstrun
