一、案例背景

古人云老師:傳道、授業、解惑,當今教書育人是老師的天職。由此可見老師的職責都應以育人為第一位,教書為第二位,老師不再是教書匠,而是偉大的教育家。老師不僅要傳授給同學科學知識,更要教育同學做人的基本道德。

二、教學內容

六班級第二學期modulethreeunitthree:seawaterandrainwater

三、情感目標

通過對地球上水資源的了解及水的重要用途的認識,讓同學懂得節省用水的重要性,同時懂得如何愛護我們的水資源。

四、教育過程

1、Showaslide

Earthistheonlyplanetinthesolarsystemknowntocontainuseablewater.Evenso,theamountofusablewaterontheplanetisfarlessthanwhatiscommonlyperceived.OfallthewateronEarth,97percentisseawater,toosaltytodrink.

TwopercentislockedintheremoteArcticandAntarcticicecapsandglaciers.Muchoftheremainingonepercente*istsaswatervaporintheatmosphere.Thatleaveslessthanonepercentoffresh,useablewaterforalltheplantsandanimalsonearth.

Somescientistshaveprojectedthatthedemandforfreshwaterwillsoonoutstripthesupply.TheypredictthatabouttwothirdsoftheEarthspopulationwillfacewatershortagesby2025.Millionsofpeoplewillbecome"waterrefugees"astheyareforcedfromtheirhomelandsinsearchofcleanfreshwater.

However,thelackofpotablewaterisntonlyaproblemforfuturegenerations;itisaproblemhereandnow.Youngonesarehitthehardest.Insomeareasoftheworld,manychildrensufferfromgastroenteritisorareinfectedwithparasiticroundwormsandflagellates.Watershortagesandunsanitarydrinkingwater,bothresultingfromalackofwaterpurificationfacilities,arethemainculprits.AccordingtotheUnitedNationsInternationalChildrensEmergencyFund(UNICEF),morethan1.6millionchildrendieeachyearfromcausesrelatedtounsanitarydrinkingwater.

Thisfigurerepresentsnearly4,400childdeathseveryday--enoughtofill12jumbojets.If12jetsfilledwithchildrencrashedeachandeveryday,theworldwouldhavelongagomobilizedtorectifythesituation.Unfortunately,thesamenumberofdeathsbydrinkingdirtywaterhasnotcommandedenoughattentionyet,andchildrencontinuetopaythepriceforourindifference.

Whatcanwedoaboutthistragicsituation?Howcanwehaltthisslideintochaosandmaintainaworldwheredrinkingwaterisadequateandsustainable?
