1、 從六十年代初開始，楊憲益和戴乃迭夫婦開始翻譯紅樓夢，于1974年完成，由外文出版社分三卷出版，譯文書名為“A Dream of Red Mansions”.三卷本的紅樓夢英譯本是至今為止惟一一部中國人翻譯的全譯本 2009年11月24日清晨6點，著名翻譯家楊憲益先生在北京煤炭總醫院因淋巴癌去世，享年95歲。 2009年7月31日，英國著名漢學家、紅學家、中國古典文學名著紅樓夢最受認可的英譯者霍克思，在牛津去世，享年86歲。 20世紀70年代，霍克思著手翻譯紅樓夢前80回，由英國企鵝出版公司出版，譯文書名為 The Story Of the Stone，分三卷，第一卷The Golden Da
