Walkingfurtherin,IreachedtheHallofSupremeHarmony.ThiswasthemostimportantandgrandestbuildingintheForbiddenCity.Standinginfrontofit,Iwasinaweofitsscaleandbeauty.Thegolden-glazedtilesontheroofsparkledbrightlyunderthesun,makingitlookextremelyresplendent.Thehugecolumnssupportingthehallwerethickandsturdy,showingthesuperbcraftsmanshipofancientChinesearchitects.Insidethehall,therewasanelaboratedragonthroneplacedonahighplatform.Thedragoncarvingsonthethroneweresovividthattheyseemedtocometolife.Icouldalmostimaginetheemperorssittingonthethrone,receivingthehomageoftheirsubjects,exudinganairofsupremeauthority.

AfterleavingtheHallofSupremeHarmony,IexploredtheotherhallsandpalacesintheForbiddenCity.Eachbuildinghaditsownuniquecharm.TheHallofCentralHarmonywassmallerbutequallyelegant,withdelicatewoodcarvingsandpaintingsonthebeamsandcolumns.TheHallofPreservingHarmonywaswhereimportantimperialceremoniesandbanquetswereheld.Itsinteriordecorationwasafeastfortheeyes,withvariouspreciousantiquesandartworksondisplay.

ThegardensintheForbiddenCitywerealsoawonder.Therockeries,pavilions,andancienttreeswerearrangedinawaythatcreatedaharmoniousandsereneatmosphere.Itwasaplacewheretheemperorsandtheroyalfamilycouldenjoyamomentofpeaceawayfromthehustleandbustleofthecourt.

Whenthesunbegantoset,theForbiddenCitywasbathedinawarm,goldenglow.Theredwallsandyellowtilesbecameevenmorevivid,creatingabreathtakinglybeautifulsight.Istoodthere,reluctanttoleave,lostinthecharmofthisancientpalace.
