youngcouplestopurchasehouses.Manybeganraisingfamilies.Somewomenchoseto

stayathometoraisetheirchildren,whiletheirhusbandswenttowork.Asaresult,the

percentageofwomenworkersdeclinedafterthewar,butitneverwentaslowasitwasin

1940.The1960stothe1990sThe1960ssawthebeginningofmanysocialchangesinthe
