ThefilmisdirectedbyTerryGeorge,starringDonChandel,SophieO'Connido,JacquesPhoenixandNickNolte.DevelopmentBackgroundItpremieredattheTorontoFilmFestivalonSeptember11,2004.BackgroundThefilmisbasedontheRwandamassacrethatoccurredin1994.Itisadaptedfromrealfactsagainstthebackground.BackgroundIttellsthestoryofPaulRusesabagina,aHuturestaurantmanagerinRwanda,whomanagedtomanageagenocideduringthegenocide.Thestoryofsaving1,268TutsiandHuturefugees.Plot

AfterRwandadeclareditsindependencein1962,theHutuandTutsitribeswerefullofcontradictions,conflictsoccurredmanytimes,andwarscontinued.Plot

OnApril6,1994,alandlineplanecarryingRwandanHutuPresidentJuvenalHabyarimanaandBurundiPresidentCyprienNtariamiraoverKigali,thecapitalofRwandawasshotdownbyarocket,PlotTwoheadsofstatewerekilledatthesametime.OnApril7,1994,theaircrashcausedmutualsuspicionbetweentheHutuandTutsitribesinRwanda.PlotAsaresult,anunprecedentedscaleofarmedconflictandgenocidebrokeout,andthehumantragedythatshockedtheworldopenedup.PlotUnderthecallofthemedia,theTutsipeopleweresearchedandkilledeverywhereFeatures
