山東旅游資料英譯的跨文化審視的綜述報告IntroductionTourismisamajoreconomiccontributorinmanycountriesacrosstheworld.InChina,thetourismsectorhasbeengrowingrapidlyoverthelastfewdecadesandhasbecomeanimportantsourceofrevenueforanumberofregionsinthecountry.ShandongprovinceisamongthetoptouristdestinationsinChinaandisknownforitsrichhistory,culture,andscenicattractions.Thisreportprovidesanoverviewofthecross-culturalperspectivesonthetourismresourcesinShandongprovince,usingEnglishtranslationsoftourismpromotionalmaterialsandliterature.LiteratureReviewTourismisacomplexandmultifacetedindustrythatinvolvesawiderangeofstakeholders,includingtourists,travelagents,hotelandrestaurantoperators,localcommunities,andgovernmentagencies.Inordertoattracttourists,destinationsneedtohaveuniqueattractions,goodinfrastructure,andeffectivemarketingstrategies.Culturalheritage,naturalscenery,andcuisineareamongthekeyresourcesthattouristsseek.However,culturaldifferencesandlanguagebarrierscanhindercommunicationandunderstandingbetweentouristsandlocals,leadingtonegativeexperiencesandperceptions.Cross-culturalperspectivesintourismrefertothestudyofhowdifferentculturesinteractinthecontextofthetourismindustry.Culturaldimensionssuchaslanguage,religion,values,beliefs,andcustomscanallinfluencetouristbehaviorandexpectations.Inordertoattracttouristsfromdiverseculturalbackgrounds,destinationsneedtobeawareofthesedifferencesandadapttheirservicesandcommunicationstrategiesaccordingly.Englishiswidelyusedasagloballanguageinthetourismindustry,anditsaccuracyandeffectivenessintranslationofpromotionalmaterialscanbeakeyfactorinattractingtouristsfromEnglish-speakingcountries.MethodologyThisreportusesEnglishtranslationsoftourismpromotionalmaterialsandliteratureonShandongprovincefromvarioussources,includingofficialwebsites,travelguides,brochures,andarticles.Thetranslationswereanalyzedusingcontentanalysisanddiscourseanalysistechniques,withafocusonculturalthemesandperspectives.FindingsBasedontheanalysisofthetourismresourcesinShandongprovince,thefollowingcross-culturalperspectiveswereidentified:1.Culturalheritage:Shandongisknownforitsrichhistoryandculturalheritage,includingConfucianism,Taoism,andBuddhism.Manyofitsattractions,suchastheConfuciusTemple,MountTai,andtheQufuCityWall,arerelatedtothesereligionsandhaveastrongculturalsignificance.Thepromotionalmaterialsfocusonthespiritualandphilosophicalvaluesofthesetraditions,suchasrespectforancestors,harmonywithnature,andmoralethics.ThesethemesmayappealmoretotouristsfromAsia,whosharesimilarculturalvalues,thantoWesterntourists.2.Naturalscenery:Shandonghasadiverselandscapethatincludesmountains,rivers,beaches,andforests.Thetourismmaterialsemphasizethenaturalbeautyoftheseareasandtheopportunitiesforoutdooractivities,suchashiking,surfing,andcamping.However,thetranslationofsomeofthedescriptionsandinstructionsmaybeconfusingormisleadingforEnglish-speakingtourists.Forexample,theuseoftechnicaltermssuchas“wind-resistantnodes”and“wave-ridingareas”indescriptionsofbeachesmaynotconveytheintendedmeaningtoforeigners.3.Cuisine:ShandongcuisineisoneoftheeightmajorculinarytraditionsinChinaandisfamousforitsboldflavorsandseafooddishes.Thepromotionalmaterialshighlightthefreshnessandvarietyoflocalingredients,aswellasthecookingtechniquesandculturalsignificanceofcertaindishes.However,theremaybesomeculturaldifferencesintasteandfoodpreferencesbetweenChineseandWesterntourists.Theuseofimagesandtranslationsthatemphasizetheexoticorunfamiliarnatureofsomedishesmaynotappealtoallaudiences.ConclusionOverall,theEnglishtranslationsoftourismpromotionalmaterialsandliteratureonShandongprovinceshowthattheregionhasawealthofculturalandnaturalresourcesthatcanattractarangeoftouristsfromdifferentculturalbackgrounds.However,tofullytapintothepotentialoftheseresources,thetourismindustryneedstobeawareofthecross-culturalperspectivesandadaptitscommunicationandservicesaccordingly.Accurateandeffectivetranslationofpromotional
